Tottenham have named an experienced line up for their vital Europa League clash against Maribor this evening.

Hugo Lloris steps into the team for the key Group J clash, while Kyle Naughton plays his first game since returning from injury.

Andros Townsend is handed a starting spot in midfield, as is Tom Huddlestone who featured in the 4-2 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday. Aaron Lennon captains the side for the second time this season.

Michael Dawson, who has struggled for first team action this season, misses out through illness meaning Jan Vertonghen starts alongside Steven Caulker at the back. Clint Dempsey starts the game from the bench.

A host of Spurs players haven’t made the trip to Slovenia for the crucial Europa League tie. Emmanuel Adebayor – who has been the subject of transfer speculation this week - is suffering with back pain and misses out, while Mousa Dembele continues to struggle with a persistent hip problem.

Long-term absentees Scott Parker, Younes Kaboul and Benoit Assou-Ekkoto are still missing, although Kaboul and Assou-Ekkoto are believed to be close to making their returns, while regular goalkeeper Brad Friedel is absent.

Gareth Bale also misses the trip to be with his girlfriend after the birth of their child.

One man who did make the trip and is expected to start against Maribor is Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic international is keen to move on from the disappointment of the 4-2 defeat at White Hart lane last Sunday, and is targeting a first Europa League win this term.

'I think it will be very important to get three points even though we are playing away from home,' The Spurs midfielder said.

'We know they are good at home so we're looking forward to the game.

'We want to bounce back after the game against Chelsea as well so three points will be very important to us.

'After the game, obviously, we were a bit low and disappointed because I thought we bounced back at half-time and got back into the game in the second half.

'When you play Chelsea, they've obviously got a lot of quality and are the champions of Europe.

'We are very disappointed but now we're looking forward to this game. We want to bounce back and get three points in this game.'

Spurs get the action underway at 6pm UK time.
