Cardiff knocked Leicester off the top of the npower Championship with a thumping 4-0 home win over Burnley as the Foxes went down at home to Crystal Palace.

The Bluebirds got off to a flying start with Joe Mason netting after three minutes and Craig Noone adding another shortly before the break and the hosts added gloss to the scoreline late on with further efforts from Matthew Connolly and Aron Gunnarsson to go three points clear of Leicester.

Nigel Pearson's side were beaten 2-1 by managerless Crystal Palace, who showed no ill-effects from losing boss Dougie Freedman to Bolton.
