Suarez should have seen red - Moyes

Published 2 Comments

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was once again the major talking point after the 219th Merseyside derby ended in a controversial 2-2 draw.

The Uruguay international, whom Everton manager David Moyes claimed should have been sent off for a foul on Sylvain Distin, netted in added time only to be denied by an incorrect linesman's flag for offside. Suarez also celebrated Liverpool's opener by diving full-length in front of Moyes, who said prior to the match that the striker goes down too easily.

"I thought it was great. I actually quite liked that - it is the sort of thing I would have done had I scored," said Moyes of Suarez's celebration. "But I think he was a lucky man to stay on the pitch with his tackle. The one down the back of his (Distin's) leg - he's topped him, definitely."
