Arsenal were able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the most dramatic fashion imaginable last night as they fought back from 4-0 down against Reading in the Capital One Cup to claim a sensational 7-5 win.

The Gunners were receiving a battering on the social media sites as Reading roared into a 4-0 lead - one particularly outraged 'fan' demanded Arsene Wenger's men be marched to the Thames and drowned. and then shot. Seems a bit over the top.

But a Theo Walcott strike just before time lit the torch paper and Arsenal roared back to 4-4 with the last kick of the game - but the drama wasn't over there. The Gunners made it 5-4 thanks to a rare Marouane Chamakh strike only for the Royals to haul themselves back into the game.

But that was to be the last of the hom side's resistance as two more goals in extra time moved Arsenal into the next round and ensured this was a game that would live long in the memory. Here are the best pictures from a stunning night at the Majedski Stadium.
