Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas appears to have put his early season troubles behind him and is now firing on all cylinders – he proved it again on Tuesday night.

The Camp Nou club came up against Segunda B side Deportivo Alaves in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night, and the former Arsenal captain was in sparkling form once more.

Fabregas had to endure reports of a possible exit from the club after new Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova dropped him to the bench for some poor performances, but he has since turned it around and insisted he was going nowhere.

He scored the third in a 3-0 win to advance the Catalan club to the next round, but it is his assists tally in La Liga that has really caught the eye – after nine appearances in the Primera Division, he has already set up seven goals.

Barcelona lost their title to Real Madrid last season, but they are currently top of the table thanks mainly to some exceptional attacking play.

They are Copa del Rey holders though, so last night was an important step in retaining the one trophy they did lift last season.

Watch Fabregas’ goal from Tuesday’s win below, as well as Andres Iniesta’s sublime goal…
