Holloway: Seasiders stint ran its course

Ian Holloway has revealed he felt he could not take Blackpool any further as manager.

Holloway agreed to join Crystal Palace at the weekend, ending a highly-successful three-and-a-half year spell at Bloomfield Road. He leaves last season's beaten play-off finalists 16th in the npower Championship despite them topping the table in the opening weeks of the season.

"I need to believe I'm moving forward and I need to believe that I can keep marching things forward," the 49-year-old told the Blackpool Gazette. "Truthfully speaking, I'm not sure I felt I could do that anymore."
