Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, is to use his position as a director of Al Jazeera sports to help Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo improve his image as the Ballon d'Or looms.

Ronaldo has frequently been linked with a move away from Real Madrid to PSG of late, and further speculation has been fuelled about his future at the Santiago Bernabeu following reports of a meeting between his agent and Al Khelaifi.

Marca reports that Jorge Mendes, long-term representative of the Real Madrid ace, has brokered a deal with Al Khelaifi that has already resulted in Al Jazeera Sport airing an exclusive interview with Ronaldo.

Al Jazeera will also film a fly-on-the-wall documentary with Ronaldo, following the Portuguese during his time with Real Madrid and with with family and friends.

The idea is to provide a greater insight into Ronaldo's life and present him as a normal person, rather than playing to the reputation of an arrogant on-field figure he seems to have garnered over the years.

Ronaldo has hardly helped some alter their opinion of him as a person too obsessed with himself, after claiming earlier this week that he would vote for himself in the 2012 Ballon d'Or.

The 27-year-old is among the favourites to win this year's award, but will struggle to keep the trophy from the grasp of Barcelona star Lionel Messi for a fourth ceremony in succession.
