Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore believes it would be 'wonderful' for the club if they did manage to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, reports Sky Sports.

The Portuguese forward has been heavily linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, after he recently revealed he was unhappy in the Spanish capital.

Speculation had suggested the 27-year-old could join the big-spending Ligue 1 giants, as Carlo Ancelotti looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League crown.

Pastore - who arrived in France from Serie A side Palermo for a fee in the region of €40million - forms a significant part of the new Parisian project, but even he says he would welcome the arrival of a player such as Ronaldo, who could take PSG to a higher level, and bring out the best in those already at the club.

"Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world," he told L'Equipe. "He scores in almost every match. He can make a huge difference individually.

"If he would sign for Paris, it would be wonderful for the club and for the players already at the club. So if he could come, I would say yes."

Jose Mourinho is determined to keep the former Manchester United star in Madrid, and is unlikely to take kindly to players from other clubs fuelling speculation, by talking about his potential arrival.
