Alessandro del Piero: Top 10 goals

Alessandro del Piero is a living football legend, one of few still plying his trade.

With eight Scudetti (two of which were revoked due to the Calciopoli), one Champions League crown, one Super Cup, and one Coppa Italia medal, during his 19-year career with Juventus, the former captain is one of the most decorated players in the club's history.

Add to that his individual accolades, which include the Serie A golden boot (2007/08), Champions League top goalscorer (1995/96, 1997/98) Italian footballer of the year (1998, 2008), Sportsman of the Year (2010), and his inclusion in FIFA's 100 list of greatest living footballers, and it's clear to see why Del Piero is revered so highly throughout the game.

A World Cup winner with Italy in 2006, today, the Sydney FC striker celebrates his 38th birthday, and in tribute to Turin's most celebrated son, GiveMeFootball brings you ten of his greatest ever goals.

After the successful conclusion to Juve's 2011/12 title-winning campaign, where Antonio Conte's side remained unbeaten all season in Serie A, the Bianconeri opted not to renew Del Piero's contract, bringing to an end a fairytale story spanning nearly two decades with the Old Lady.

He turned down big-money offers from the Premier League and the MLS to move to the A-League, boosting season-ticket sales at Sydney FC by 10 per cent in the space of a week.

Juventus supporters have embraced The Sky Blues as their "second team", as Del Piero's influence continues to loom large in Turin. He still dons the No.10 jersey that he made his own in Italy, and continues to stand head and shoulders above any opposition he has faced in Australia.

With three goals in just four appearances, Del Piero has drawn crowds wherever he plays, and has helped rekindle what was a waning passion for the world game in Australia.
