The representative of Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has reportedly been in discussions over a proposed January transfer window move to Valencia for the young Spaniard.

Romeu has made only four appearances for Chelsea this season and the 21-year-old could now seemingly be granted a move away from Stamford Bridge to further his education elsewhere.

Valencian newspaper Superdeporte published pictures of Romeu's agent Magico Diaz visiting the Spanish club's offices and, it is claimed, discussions were held with sporting director Braulio Vazquez.

Valencia reportedly hope to convince Chelsea to part with Romeu in January in a loan deal, with the Spanish club having the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Romeu only signed for Chelsea from Barcelona during the summer transfer window of 2011 and looked promising in his 24 appearances during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The new system adopted by Roberto di Matteo, however, has seen the Chelsea boss favour John Obi Mikel and the dynamic Ramires to support the exciting midfield trio of Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard.
