Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones is yet to begin talks over a new contract at Anfield, according to reports.

The Australian international has impressed in recent months on Merseyside, replacing the injured Pepe Reina between the sticks for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

But, The Daily Mirror claims Jones has to impress the Reds boss ‘even more’ in the coming weeks if he’s to be included in the manager's long-term plans at Liverpool.

Jones made the move to Liverpool in the summer of 2010 after nine years with Middlesbrough, and is enjoying his longest spell in the first team in the absence of Spanish star Reina.

But, having nearly left for Norwich City in the summer, his future is far from certain, and with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, Jones could leave Liverpool for nothing.

Having settled in the area, the report claims Jones is eager to stay at the club and continue to fight for the No.1 goalkeeper spot, but time is starting to tick away as Liverpool consider their options in the position.
