£30m Chelsea midfield target confirms transfer desire
Chelsea transfer news: Marouane Fellaini confirms plan to leave Everton
Chelsea midfield target Marouane Fellaini has told journalists in Belgium that he’s ready to leave Everton.
The 24-year-old has been in stunning form for the Toffees this season, helping David Moyes’ side to fourth-place in the Premier League table after more than a quarter of the campaign.
Reports in The Daily Mail claim Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo leads the chase for the £30 million-rated Belgian international, and the former Standard Liege star is open to either a domestic switch or move abroad in either January or the summer.
“I've seen everything with Everton and in January or at the end of the season, I will turn to a new club or a new league,” said Fellaini, according to the paper.
Fellaini is one of a rising Belgian contingent in the English top flight, and if he were to sign for Chelsea, he’d be joining playmaker Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
Kevin De Bruyne, Thorgan Hazard and Thiabut Courtois are also on the books in west London, although currently ply their trade away from Chelsea on loan.
Moyes admitted yesterday that clubs are interested in ‘Felli’, but if Chelsea do want the player, they will have to pay ‘a big price’ to secure his services.
"Everybody knows where he is and if they want to come and watch him that's up to them,” he told the Liverpool Daily Post.
"It would be a big price on his head but we've got no problem in people coming and watching him.”
