Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a £12 million move for FC Porto winger Christian Atsu.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian international has been watched by Spurs in Champions League matches this season, according to The Sunday People, with manager Andre Villas-Boas looking to raid his old club.
Indeed, Villas-Boas knows the player well, after promoting the youngster into the first team at the Estadio do Dragao during his successful spell in charge of the club.
AVB is now eager to bring the player to White Hart Lane, and is urging Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to ‘push the boat out’ when the transfer window reopens, according to the report.
Spurs aren’t short of quality on the wings in north London, with Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon regarded as two of the best in the Premier League.
However, the Tottenham Hotspur boss would appear to be eager to add some competition for places, and Atsu would also be a signing for the future at the club.
