Liverpool youngster Conor Coady has backed Andre Wisdom to become a 'top player' for the Reds, and believes he is destined for 'great things' in the Premier League.
Coady has grown up playing alongside Wisdom in the Liverpool youth academy, and the England youth international is looking to follow in his teammate's footsteps by progressing from youth team to first-team.
Wisdom has become a Liverpool starter under Brendan Rodgers this season after making his debut against Norwich in September. And Coady has backed his former youth team colleague to achieve great things at Anfield.
"He's a top lad and a fantastic player," said Coady on Liverpoolfc.com. "I think he will achieve great things for Liverpool. He has come into the side and looked solid, just as he did last year with the under-18s."
Wisdom is one of a number of youngsters given the chance to show what they can do by Rodgers, and Coady is looking follow the likes of Raheem Sterling and Suso into the manager's first-team plans.
"Seeing the likes of him and Raheem in the first team drives everyone here at the academy on. It makes the lads think, 'I want to get my chance now' and when they look at players like that, it gives them great motivation."
Sterling was rewarded for his excellent early season form with an England call-up, and the 17-year-old received his first cap on Wednesday evening.
The Liverpool youngster impressed on his debut, but Roy Hodgson's side slumped to a 4-2 defeat in Sweden, Paris St Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic hitting four goals, including a stunning overhead kick.
Liverpool resume Premier League action on Saturday when the face Wigan at Anfield. The Reds will be looking to avenge last season's 1-0 home defeat, but Roberto Martinez's side have started the campaign in good form.
