Barely a day passes without another Radamel Falcao transfer rumour.

From Manchester City to Chelsea, from Paris St Germain to Real Madrid, the Atletico Madrid number nine is one of the world's most sought after forwards - and one of the world's most expensive.

A potential partnership with Fernando Torres - who cost £50m from Liverpool - would make the Chelsea forward line one of the most expensive ever assembled, if not the most expensive.

Of course, Falcao could be signed to replace Torres, and with Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar all jockeying for position behind, it's difficult to see space for Torres should the Colombian international join the Blues.

But at least expert has suggested the two could work together. As Atletico Madrid alumni they could, in theory at least, form one of the most formidable strike partnerships in world football.

Falcao's release clause is reportedly to be £48.1m - and Atletico are almost certainly unwilling to let him leave for less. Add that to Torres at £50m, and you have a partnership pushing the £100m mark. Goals pay the rent, and Roman Abramovich is a demanding landlord.

But how would that potential deal rank compared to the world's other elite forward partnerships? All figures have been taken from transfermarkt.co.uk. GMF looks at five of the most expensive currently still playing together...
