The 27-year-old Serbian defender has started only five games for the reigning Premier League champions this season, and reports in Italy now suggest the Serie A giants will attempt to lure him to Turin when the transfer window reopens in January.
Roberto Mancini will want to keep Kolarov at the Etihad Stadium, in order to maintain his squad strength in depth. But, unless the Citizens boss can offer the player more regular action, he may be forced to push through a move in the New Year.
Juventus feel they have a strong chance of clinching Kolarov's signature, particularly if, as expected, City fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Currently sitting bottom of Group D after four games, Mancini's men must win both of their remaining fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, and hope that other results go in their favour, as they attempt to sneak into the top two.
