Zinedine Zidane has hailed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as an ‘extraordinary talent’ following his four goal performance against England last night.

The Swedish striker not only helped his side defeat England by scoring all four goals in a 4-2 win over the Three Lions, but struck a contender for goal of the year with his final effort.

Ibrahimovic found the back of the net with an audacious 25-yard overhead kick to put the icing on the kick of Swden’s victory that had looked in doubt after the visitors claimed a 2-1 lead having fallen behind in the first half.

Zidane says he was impressed with what he saw in Stockholm, and hailed the Paris Saint-Germain striker’s efforts in scoring four times in one game.

“Ibrahimovic is an extraordinary player," said Zidane. "I never managed to score four in a game."

He added of Ibrahimovic’s final goal: "It was magnificent - especially the overhead kick," said Zidane.

The France legend also had his say in his country’s 2-1 victory over Italy last night, and said he was pleased with what he saw.

"They did the job. After [drawing a FIFA World Cup qualifier with] Spain they confirmed they are on the right track."

"It is not easy to win in Italy - I know that after difficult confrontations with Italy," he joked in reference to his sending off in the 2006 World Cup final.
