Liverpool predicted line-up against Wigan Athletic: November 17

Published Add your comment

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to return for the visit of Wigan Athletic after a five-week injury lay-off.

The Spanish stopper has recovered from the hamstring injury suffered while on international duty last month, and is likely to come in for Brad Jones, who has deputised between the sticks for the past four games.

Jonjo Shelvey should recover from the thigh problem that ruled him out of England's midweek friendly defeat against Sweden, and central defensive pairing Daniel Agger (groin) and Martin Skrtel (illness) are also expected to return.

Brendan Rodgers will be focused on stretching Liverpool's six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, in a bid to improve on their current 13th-place standing in the table.

The Reds last tasted defeat against Manchester United at the end of September, and will be looking to record only their second win at Anfield this season, following victory over Reading last month.

Predicted Liverpool starting XI:

Reina; Johnson, Wisdom, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique; Allen, Gerrard; Sahin, Sterling; Suarez.
