Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, a reported target for Liverpool and Manchester City, says he is surprised to hear of supposed interest in his signature from Inter Milan.

Eriksen appears destined for a high-profile move away from Ajax, and both Liverpool and Manchester City have frequently been credited with interest in the Denmark international.

But, according to talkSPORT, Inter Milan have now joined Liverpool and Manchester City in pursuit of Eriksen, who has impressed with his performances in the Champions League this term.

Eriksen, who has previously spoken about his pride at being linked with Liverpool, admits it is the first he has heard of Inter wanting to sign him and is flattered by their reported interest.

The 20-year-old, who Ajax assistant coach believes is destined for Barcelona or Real Madrid, has also denied he would only consider a move to La Liga, which will provide Liverpool, Manchester City and Inter some hope in their respective pursuits.

"I know that there are many important clubs interested in me but I never heard anything about Inter," Eriksen Calciomercatonews.com.

"It's a nice surprise. I never said I would only play in La Liga. I like England and Italy too."

A January move from the Premier League for Eriksen may be unlikely, with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini stating on Friday that he is happy with the squad at his disposal.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, is in desperate need of goalscoring reinforcements, and may overlook Eriksen in pursuit of a new striker.
