Mancini Jnr taunts Jose Mourinho ahead of crucial Champions League clash
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho lacks football knowledge according to Roberto Mancini's son
Roberto Mancini's son, Andrea, has hit out at Jose Mourinho, claiming his father knows more about the game than the decorated Real Madrid boss, reports talkSPORT.
The Italian youngster, who is currently playing for the reserve team of La Liga side Real Vallodolid, told Spanish newspaper Marca he can't believe the stick his dad takes from some critics.
The Citizens host Real Madrid in a crucial Champions League Group D clash at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, needing a victory over Mourinho's men, and hoping that Ajax can avoid defeat against Borussia Dortmund to keep their feint hopes of qualification to the knockout stages alive.
City's chances of progression to the last-16 are obviously slim, with Mancini himself admitting that they need a miracle. But, that won't prevent him or his players from giving everything as they bid to beat Real Madrid this week.
Asked if he saw any similarities between the two managers who are preparing to go head-to-head, Andrea insisted that his father Roberto is completely different to Mourinho.
"They aren't alike," he affirmed. "My dad was a player for many years, and it shows. He has a lot of experience and knows more about football than Mourinho.
"Mourinho is more of a psychologist, more of a motivator, he knows how to manage the minds of the players. The ideal coach would be a mixture of both."
