Shinji Kagawa faces at least another four weeks on the sidelines, Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed. The United star injured his knee against Braga last month, and his recovery is taking longer than expected.

Sergio Aguero has called on his Manchester City teammates never to give up their ambition of reaching the Champions League knockout stage. The Premier League champions need a miracle to progress after picking up two points from their four matches.

Gary Cahill has leapt to the defence of manager Roberto Di Matteo, amid growing speculation that the Italian's future as Chelsea boss is under threat. The England international pointed the Di Matteo's success in the Champions League, and backed his manager to steer the Blues past Juventus this evening.

Nottingham Forest will revive their interest in Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes, according to reports. The Championship look set to lose first-choice Lee Camp, and could turn to Gomes as a replacement.

Arsenal have promoted Chuba Akpom to the Champions League squad after a string of impressive performances in the Gunners youth ranks. The 17-year-old has been handed a squad number by Arsene Wenger, and could be fast-tracked into the senior squad before Christmas.
