Chelsea & Tottenham Hotspur target available at bargain price
Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Loic Remy is available for just £8million in January
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur could now get striker target Loic Remy for a bargain price, according to his agent.
Remy’s agent, Bruno Satin, released a statement claiming Oympique Marseille are having cash troubles and are now prepared to let the striker leave for as little as €10million – about half the price that was quoted for him earlier this year.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was reportedly ready to sanction a £15million move in January for the 25-year-old, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had reportedly made him a long-term target for a move.
“Marseille needs money and could bid farewell in the reopening of the transfer market. If you were to get an offer of ten million, then Remy could leave the club,” Satin is quoted as saying by French website Foot Marseille.
Remy has struggled with injury in recent months and has yet to score this season in Ligue 1, but he is one of Europe’s most talked about attackers and would have been in the France squad fro Euro 2012 but for injury.
Chelsea have striker troubles this season as Fernando Torres has failed to fire in recent weeks and his understudy, Daniel Sturridge, doesn’t have a great deal of experience in the role.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has got an in-form front man in Jermain Defoe, but he only has Emmanuel Adebayor to call on after the England striker and could be tempted to add to his attacking ranks.
