Arsenal are battling with Inter Milan to sign Bundesliga stars Lewis Holtby and Zdravko Kuzmanovic this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is monitoring the pair, but will have to fight off interest from the Serie A side, according to a Calciomercato.com report.
Holtby currently plies his trade with Schalke 04 but his contract expires at the end of the season, so the Gunners would have the possibility of negotiating a pre-contract deal if there is no extension signed by January.
Kuzmanovic is currently with Stuttgart, but has found playing time hard to come by recently and admitted he could leave at the end of the season if he does not find himself more involved in first team action.
Stuttgart signed the Serbia international in 2009 for a club record €8million from Serie A side Fiorentina.
Holtby is a product of the Schalke youth system, though he is entitled to a British passport by virtue of his father being from England.
The 22-year-old impressed in the recent Champions League clashes between his side and Arsenal, and has made himself an integral part of Huub Stevens’ first team this season.
