Despite the more high-profile games from the weekend’s round of Premier League features failing to deliver in the goals department, there were some impressive performances.
Defenders excelled for much of the weekend, though teams like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur did find success in front of goal.
Though Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea looked impressively solid, but this will have been little comfort to Premier League neutrals as the attacks misfired.
The top sides’ failure to spark up front meant the way was paved for some of the less covered players to shine in the attacking department.

GK – Petr Cech, Chelsea
The Czech Republic international has shown good leadership in what has been a difficult week for Chelsea. He was commanding in the draw with Manchester City, making a numerous good saves.
RB – Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea
The Spaniard has begun to make some progress after a slow start to his career at Stamford Bridge. Against the Premier League champions he was assured in defence and supported the attack well.
LB – Kieran Gibbs, Arsenal
The Gunners have missed the balance Gibbs brings to their defence and it is no surprise they looked as assured at the back as they have done for some time in his return from injury.
