Chelsea's teenage midfielder Conor Hunte is wanted by Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old has been tipped for a bright future in the game, and has already attracted interest from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Liverpool.

Hunte is yet to sign a professional contract at Stamford Bridge due to his age, but Chelsea will be determined to keep hold of the talented teenager, and not want to lose him to a direct rival like Manchester United.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly keen to lure the England U17 international to Old Trafford though, and will make Hunte an attractive offer to swap west London for Manchester.

If United succeed in their bid to sign the Chelsea youngster, then they will owe the Blues compensation for development costs, that will be decided by an independent tribunal should the two clubs fail to reach agreement over a fee.

Hunte has impressed in the Chelsea youth team this season, leading to widespread interest from rival Premier League clubs, but the reigning European champions will be determined to convince him that his future lies in the capital.
