Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has revealed Chelsea and Manchester City transfer target Radamel Falcao wants to test himself in another league one day, according to Goal.com.

Falcao has been strongly linked with Chelsea and City, but Cerezo is equally confident of holding on to the Colombian international for this season.

The 26-year-old forward reportedly has a £46m release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract, and Chelsea and City are thought to be preparing bids for the January transfer window. Despite the arrival of Rafael Benitez - who is thought to have been hired to help get the best out of Fernando Torres - Chelsea have still been linked with a bid for Falcao in the New Year.

Still, Cerezo insists Falcao will be staying put for the foreseeable future, but admitted a move away from La Liga is on the cards further down the line.

"He tells me he is very happy here and that he wants to honour his contract, but one day, we don't know when, he would like to try out another league," Cerezo told Cuatro, as reported by Goal.com.

"I know that the day will come, but it won't be anytime soon. I can say that he has told me personally that he loves being at this club.

"He is the best No.9 in the world at the moment. He is also a lovely, kind guy, and he never loses his temper."

The Colombian forward is under contract with Atletico until June 2016, but speculation has mounted he could move away before then.

Real Madrid have been linked with Falcao, but Cerezo appears to rule out the Atletico striker playing for any other La Liga club.

A move to the Premier League appears most likely then, which could give a boost to Chelsea and Manchester City's pursuit of the striker. Chelsea appear to be the most likely destination, and reports suggested the Stamford Bridge side were leading the chase for Falcao, but Manchester City retain an interest, and possess the finances to challenge Chelsea for the forward.
