Speaking to Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, the 20-year-old's representative, Adriano Spadotto, says that the increase in transfer speculation is down to the midfielder's fine run of form.
Bernard has recently become a full Brazil international off the back of a string of scintillating performances for Atletico Mineiro, which has also attracted interest from a host of European clubs.
"There is a lot of speculation, that's normal as the player is in great form," Spadotto stated.
"Giuliano Bertolucci [a partner of Spadotto] and [Atletico Mineiro's] president Alexandre Kalil are those who deal with negotiations, but there is nothing right now, it's just a rumour."
Bertolucci, who is working with Spadotto on Bernard, is also the agent of Chelsea trio David Luiz, Oscar and Lucas Piazon, which could explain the reason why the youngster has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
And, with a growing contingent of South American stars arriving in west London, the diminutive 5ft 4in Bernard could be the next in line to join the reigning European champions.
