£15m Tottenham and Chelsea target on radar of Premier Legue rivals
Tottenham and Chelsea transfer news: QPR chase Loic Remy
Remy’s performances for Marseille over the last two seasons has seen him linked with a move to a host of Premier League clubs. The Frenchman hit 12 league goals last term before picking up an injury that kept him out of Euro 2012.
Chelsea and Tottenham were credited with an interest in the forward over the summer, while Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal have also been linked with him in the past.
Chelsea are believed to have come extremely close to landing Remy in the summer, but failed to come up with an agreement with Marsielle over how the fee would be paid.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas refuted claims he wanted to lande the talented forward but reports suggested the Lillywhites made a £15 million move for him on deadline day but fell just short.
Now though the Daily Mail report that QPR are ready to up their interest in Remy as boss Harry Redknapp reignites his pursuit of the forward, who can operate through the middle as well as out wide.
Redknapp was keen on landing Remy while he was in charge at Tottenham but failed to get the deal done, and now wants to add him to his squad at QPR having taken over at Loftus Road this week.
However he is likely to ignore the overtures of the London-based club as he is keen on playing Champions League football.
Of his current suitors only Chelsea and Arsenal can offer him access to European football’s leading club competition, although the Stamford Bridge outfit could soon be dumped out at the group stages.
