Chelsea midfield target Bernard has revealed that ‘every player would like to play’ at Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old has been heavily-linked with a move to west London in recent weeks, with The Daily Express reporting last Wednesday that the Blues had set their sights on ‘the new Oscar’.

And, whilst the Atletico Mineiro starlet confirms that there is nothing more than speculation at this stage, he’s now happy to admit that any professional would love the chance to play in west London.

"We know there is speculation, the press has been talking a lot. But nothing concrete has come so far," he told ESPN Brazil.

"Chelsea are a club with a lot of visibility, they are a club where every player would like to play."

Bernard has previously stated that he's happy with Mineiro, and willing to stay in Brazil providing he feels ‘valued’ by the club.

Whilst the youngster denies that he’s being a ‘mercenary’ in search of more money, he’s eager to get some stability in his football life at an early stage.

"Wherever I am, they always ask me if I'll stay [at Atletico Mineiro]. I'm pretty calm about that. Atletico Mineiro and the agents don't have to pay attention only to their interests. They have to pay attention to mine too,” he told Lancenet at the start of the week.

"I'll have the last word, but I'll demand that I'm more valued by the club. We know the football career is short. I'm not being a mercenary, but I need some stability. So I'll want to be valued in order to stay.”

Chelsea are in the market for a midfielder amidst reports that Frank Lampard could leave the King’s Road at the end of the season, and the one-cap Brazilian international would be a potential replacement for the England veteran in central midfield.

If Bernard were to join the Blues, he’d be part of a growing Brazilian contingent, with Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires also in the Chelsea squad.
