Andre Villas-Boas has moved to deny claims Scott Parker will leave Tottenham in the January transfer, saying the midfielder is ‘not for sale’.

Parker is nearing a return to action after missing the start of the season through an Achilles injury picked up while on international duty with England at Euro 2012.

The 32-year-old was a key member of Harry Redknapp’s squad last season as they secured 4th place in the Premier League, however the emergence of Sandro has prompted some speculation about his future at White Hart Lane.

Recent reports suggest Redknapp may make a move to take Parker to QPR having taken over at Loftus Road last month, but Villas-Boas says there is no chance of the former West Ham man leaving Spurs.

"At this moment, it is not even a consideration," he said. "It is very unfair that you put a player who was voted best player at Tottenham last year into the transfer market just like that.

"He's an amazing player, it's such a good boost for us he is back. He's someone who can give us major help."

Parker completed 90 minutes for Spurs' reserve side in their defeat against Ipswich this week, and while Villas-Boas confirmed he won’t play against either Panathinaikos or Everton this week, he will be available for selection against Swansea.

He added: "Parker is fit again. Not this week, but hopefully [he will play] next week."
