Arsenal star 'angry' at Gunners poor form
Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta is desperate to turn around the Gunners' fortunes
Arsenal star Mikel Arteta has revealed the Gunners squad is 'angry' with their recent run of poor results - and are desperate to turn around in their next round of fixtures.
Arsene Wenger's side have made their worst start to a Premier League season in the manager's 16-year reign, and the Gunners were booed off the field against Swansea following their 2-0 home defeat.
And while Arteta admits the Arsenal fans have every reason to criticise the team after their recent performances, he insists the squad is prepared to put a smile back on the supporters faces by stringing together a couple of winning displays.
"It's massive now," said the Spaniard on talkSPORT. "Winning two or three games in a row will change the atmosphere. We want the fans to stay behind us but the fans need us to be on top of our form to get that excitement.
"We have to give them something now and they will respond, because they love Arsenal as much as we do.
"We are all angry with ourselves and hopeful we can show that on Saturday."
Arsenal's 2-1 defeat to Olympiakos this week means the Gunners are without a win since 21 November - a 2-0 home victory over Montpellier.
Draws to Aston Villa and Everton, and a loss to Swansea has seen Arsene Wenger's side slip down to 10th in the Premier League table.
But the Gunners have a kind looking fixture list in the run-up to the Christmas period, with a home match against West Brom, and visits to struggling Reading and Wigan, before two home ties against West Ham and Newcastle takes them into the New Year.
