South American star Mauro Caballero could be set for a transfer to Manchester City and Chelsea after the forward's father said he expects Cabellero to move to Europe, according to talkSPORT.
The 18-year-old is highly-regarded in South America, and currently plays for Paraguayan side Libertad, where he's already made his first-team breakthrough.
TalkSPORT claim a number of Europe's top clubs are interested in the striker, including Benfica and Porto, as well as Manchester City and Chelsea.
But the player's father, also called Mauro Caballero, revealed his son is likely to make the move to Europe soon, and has already received one firm proposal ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Caballero Senior told Radio Cardinal AM: "The future of Mauro points to Europe. There is one great option for January but we cannot confirm anything yet."
Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in the young forward, according to the report, but it not certain whether either club is the one Caballero senior refers to.
Both clubs are expected to be active next month, when the month-long transfer window opens.
European champions Chelsea have been linked with a number of strikers, as Rafa Benitez only has Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge to choose from.
Manchester City have more options up front, with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli all competing for a starting space.
But the Premier League champions are still likely to be on the lookout for purchases in January - squad size could be key as City look to defend their league crown.
