Thierry Henry is set to return to Arsenal for a third spell next month, with the club legend poised to make his ‘debut’ against Swansea City in the FA Cup Third Round tie at Swansea City.

Henry was in the crowd at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to watch the Gunners overcome the challenge of West Brom, with Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta scoring twice from the penalty spot for the hosts.

And, despite reluctance from the New York Red Bulls to allow their star striker a short-term exit, The Daily Mail claims talks are at an advanced stage, with the length of the spell the final issue to be resolved.

Whilst the Gunners are pushing to secure the Frenchman’s services until the end of the season, according to ESPN, the MLS outfit will not want one of their designated players to miss the first two months of the new season in America next year.

Henry has already made a training ground return in north London, keeping in shape over the last couple of weeks during the off-season in the USA.

And, having done the same thing before completing a return to the Arsenal squad last season, it appears Wenger is about to cover the loss of Gervinho to the African Cup of Nations with the club’s all-time record goalscorer.
