West Brom striker Shane Long is paying little attention to speculation of a January move to Liverpool, and insists he's fully focused on continuing his fine early season form, reports Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international has already bagged eight goals in all competitions, which is believed to have garnered admiring glances from a number of rival Premier League clubs.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be in the market for a new striker in the New Year, with Luis Suarez currently the only fit, and recognised first-team striker at Anfield.

Steve Clarke has made clear his intentions to keep Long at The Hawthorns, and he himself has reiterated that he is happy plying his trade in the Midlands.

"I'm just concentrating on my football, I'm enjoying playing up front, I love my job," he said. "It's very enjoyable at the moment and I'll let the rumours take care of themselves.

The Baggies have slipped from third to sixth in the Premier League table following three consecutive defeats, but Long - like all of his team-mates - is confident that they can get back to winning ways soon.

"I think the only bad performance we have put in was during the first half against Swansea," he continued. "Last week against Stoke it was just a horrible game and against Arsenal two penalties cost us.

"We've still got that confidence in us. We're still fairly close in the league and want to look at the teams above us and try and hang on to them rather than looking down.

"We'll forget about the last three results. We're playing well, we're confident on the ball. Once we get that rub of the green, results will start going our way."

By contrast, Liverpool are up to 10th, following Sunday's 3-2 victory over West Ham at Upton Park, having lost just one of their last 11 Premier League matches.
