West Ham manager Alan Curbishley declared the Premier League side´s pre-season tour of North America a success despite losing to the Major League Soccer All-Stars on Thursday night.

Two goals from Dean Ashton could not stop the Hammers going down 3-2 to an All-Star side featuring England´s David Beckham, Mexican hero Cuauhtemoc Blanco and USA star Landon Donovan in front of a stadium-record crowd of 20,844 at BMO Field.

"The problem we had is that we have probably got five or six senior players missing from the squad and the week we´ve had in America and now Toronto means, unfortunately, that some of the players here have had to play most of the football and I´ve not really been able to rest anyone," Curbishley said.
