Aston Villa central defender Curtis Davies admits he is braced for an "interesting reception" when he returns to West Brom for the first time with Martin O´Neill´s side next season.

Davies, well on the road to recovery from a ruptured Achilles, was viewed as public enemy number one by some Baggies fans when he joined Villa on loan last season - a transfer that became permanent earlier this week.

But Davies has no regrets about the move and said: "The Albion fans booed me in a friendly but that is expected, with the way things are portrayed to fans being different to what the reality is. The main thing for me is I´m at the club where I want to be and I just need to concentrate on my football now and press on - but it will be an interesting reception at the Hawthorns!"
