Barnsley have signed striker Iain Hume from Leicester in a £1.2million deal.

The Tykes beat off competition from Wolves, Sheffield United and Preston to secure the 24-year-old Canada international´s signature.

Manager Simon Davey told the club´s official website: "We´ve been tracking Iain all summer and I´ve been an admirer of him since his days at Tranmere. Iain is a big talent, who at the age of 24 is just starting to come into his prime."
