Gent captain Ilombe Mboyo has added his name to the long list of players who have suffered heartbreak from the penalty spot.

David Beckham, Neymar and Roberto Baggio are three of the most famous names to fluff their lines from 12-yards, and now Mboyo has joined these illustrious stars.

The effort was so bad, that the former Charleroi was forced to apologise to fans following the eventual 2-0 defeat.

"I am the club captain. I want respect. I play all the time at 100%. I missed a penalty, but it happens. I did not mean to. I wanted to score," he’s quoted as saying on The Daily Mirror.
