Liverpool are being linked with an audacious move for Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez.
Whilst a forward is seen as the main priority in the January transfer window on Merseyside, the report claims Liverpool are looking to strengthen behind Luis Suarez in order to provide the Uruguayan with more service.
Sanchez has struggled to make an impact under Tito Vilanova this season, predominantly featuring off the bench for the Catalan giants. His only goal of the campaign thus far came in a 2-0 Champions League win away at Benfica.
That compares to 15 goals in all competitions last term under Pep Guardiola, suggesting the 23-year-old has not been able to find his best form under the new manager.
However, Mundo Deportivo ‘understands’ that Barca might be reluctant to sell Sanchez, who only moved to the Nou Camp in the summer of 2011.
The Spaniard snubbed a move to the Premier League though, and Liverpool have now set their sights on his teammate in La Liga.
