Manchester United & Liverpool chase teenage son of Swedish strike legend
Manchester United & Liverpool transfer news: Jordan Larsson linked with Premier League move
Manchester United and Liverpool are both being linked with a move for Swedish youth international Jordan Larsson.
The 15-year-old Hogaborgs BK midfielder is the son of Swedish legend Henrik Larsson, who enjoyed a brief spell on loan with the Red Devils in 2007.
It’s the teenage attacking midfielder who is now on the Old Trafford radar however, with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sending scouts to watch the player at the end of the season in Sweden, according to talkSPORT.
Laarson’s side play in the fourth tier domestically, and the youngster scored five goals during the campaign – which ran from April to October.
Manchester United aren’t the only Premier League club to show an interest in the player however, with The Sunday People reporting that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen on the player.
The Reds are renowned for their academy at Anfield, with a number of current first team regulars on Merseyside working their way through the youth ranks – including Andre Wisdom and Suso.
Raheem Sterling also spent time in the Melwood system after signing for Liverpool in 2010, whilst the club have big hopes for the likes of Connor Coady and Adam Morgan.
Manchester United aren’t short of youth team graduates either mind you, with Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley two high-profile recent graduates.
Both clubs will be hoping their track-record in this area can help persuade Larsson over a move, although talkSPORT claims Liverpool and United will have a task on their hands to persuade the players father that he should move abroad at such a young age.
