Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to be linked with a move for Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

However, The Sun claims Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas will have to pay £10 million for the England U21 international’s services – an increase of £4 million from previous valuations.

Club coaches Les Ferdinand and Tim Sherwood are monitoring the player’s progress carefully in the Championship, according to the report, with members of the White Hart Lane scouting network watching every game Ince participates in.

The paper also suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are planning for life after Gareth Bale, with Ince a potential replacement for one of Europe’s most wanted players.

Reports in the Metro at the weekend claimed Manchester United were preparing a bid for the player, whose father Paul spent six years with the Red Devils after moving to Old Trafford in 1989.

Whether Sir Alex Ferguson will still be interested in the player, given the price hike, remains to be seen, but Manchester United are also said to be monitoring wingers James Rodriguez and Wilfried Zaha.
