Arsenal are being linked with a move for Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour.
The 23-year-old Tunisian international only arrived at the Stadium Municipal in the summer of 2011, joining the Ligue 1 outfit from Etoile du Sahel after Werder Bremen turned down the chance to sign the player the previous season.
However, his form in the French top flight has alerted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has sent scouts to watch the left back on a number of occasions, according to publication Nice-Martin.
Gunners scout Giles Grimandi was again in the stands to take in Abdennour’s performance against Nice at the weekend, claims the paper, although the former defender would have been disappointed to learn that an ankle injury kept the target out of the side.
Arsenal have brought a number of players to the Premier League from France in the past, with Olivier Giroud the most recent addition in the summer.
Abdennour would challenge Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos for a place in the side at the Emirates Stadium - if he were to follow in the striker's footsteps.
