Tottenham Hotspur are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

Andre Villas-Boas’ side join Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United in their pursuit of the player, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, with the Colombian international set to join a long list of players who have swapped La Liga for the Premier League.

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old in recent weeks, with owner Roman Abramovich ready to give-up on Fernando Torres in favour of a new striker at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.

Roberto Mancini has also been heavily linked with a move to bring the player to the Etihad Stadium in recent weeks, and whilst the same paper reported Manchester City were out of the race over the weekend, the speculation in Spain suggests Falcao could yet join the champions.

Manchester United aren’t short of options up-front, with Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck already scraping for chances at Old Trafford. Falcao’s arrival would certainly make Sir Alex Ferguson the envy of every manager in club football.

Spurs, meanwhile, have limited options in attack, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor the only senior strikers at White Hart Lane. Whether Villas-Boas would be given such huge funds to bring former Porto player to north London remains to be seen.

All roads appear to lead to England for El Tigre, but an agreement over the €60 million minimum fee release clause will need to be reached first before Falcao makes his Vicente Calderon Stadium bow.
