Werder Bremen loanee confident of bright Chelsea future
Chelsea loanee Kevin De Bruyne is enjoying his time in Germany with Werder Bremen
The 21-year-old is currently enjoying a season long loan spell in Germany with Werder Bremen, picking up valuable experience playing in the Bundesliga.
A talented Belgium international winger, De Bruyne only arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer, but was sent out by Roberto Di Matteo before making a competitive appearance for the Blues.
However, in light of the former Chelsea manager's departure, the attacking midfielder insists he's not about to give up on his Premier League dream, and can't wait to finally test himself in west London.
"I am definitely going to spend pre-season with Chelsea," De Bruyne told Kreiszeitung Syke. "After that, we will see what happens.
"I know it will be very tough for me to accept being just a substitute. I know I would become extremely unhappy."
With competition for places in the Chelsea first-team at an all-time high, the youngster accepts that he may have to bide his time before making the breakthrough, and says he will consider a short-term switch to another Premier League club, just like his compatriot Romelu Lukaku.
"I want to play every match and if that doesn't happen at Chelsea, then perhaps I will have to find a club that are a bit lower in standard," he said.
