Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has dropped the clearest hint yet that he will leave the Dutch club at the end of the season – and says a move to England could be on the cards.

Eriksen is considered one of the brightest young talents in Europe and has reportedly attracted interest from all over the continent.

In recent months Tottenham and Liverpool are said to be keen on securing his services, while Manchester United and Manchester City are believed to have tried to lure him to England in the past.

Tottenham appear in need of some extra quality in the middle of the pitch having lost both Rafael Van der Vaart and Luka Modric.

Spurs also missed out Porto’s Joao Moutinho over the summer and could be back in the market for a cultured central midfielder having seemingly conceded defeat in their attempts to land the Portuguese midfielder.

Liverpool meanwhile are also reportedly after the Danish international as a potential long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard, and Eriksen has previously admitted it was flattered to be linked with a move to Anfield.

The 20-year-old has turned down the offer of a new contract to extend his stay with Ajax beyond 2014, prompting speculation he could be on the move as soon as January.

However Eriksen says the chance to win the Europa League with Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena where the final will be hosted could prove to be the perfect goodbye.

"I think that my future lies in England, Germany, Italy or Spain. These are the competitions that I like. I will leave Ajax at one point, but I want to leave at the right moment and in the right way," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I do not know what I will do in a few months' time yet, but I want to leave my mark before moving on. The Europa League final in our own stadium would be a good opportunity for that.

"I have learned a lot here and I don't want to leave with empty hands. I want to win something and then move on."
