Chelsea and Manchester City transfer target Radamel Falcao has revealed he's happy at Atletico Madrid, striking a blow to the hopes of the Premier League pair who had hoped to sign him in January, according to talkSPORT.
The £40m-rated La Liga star has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as across town to Real Madrid, but the Colombian international has insisted he's happy to stay put at the Vicente Calderon.
Falcao continued his incredible start to the season, hitting five goals past Deportivo La Coruna at the weekend, as Atletico Madrid beat the bottom-of-the-table club to remain second in the league, six points behind Barcelona.
And, speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, Falcao insisted he's committed to the club.
"I am enjoying myself here," said Falcao. "I have a three-year contract at Atletico. I dreamed of doing this, but I didn't know if I could. It has exceeded my expectations.
"I'm very comfortable here. It also helps a lot that we speak the same language. The Spanish, like Latinos, are very happy and I am grateful I can live here."
The 26-year-old has hit 16 goals in 14 league matches this term - only Barcelona star Lionel Messi has more - and his rich vein of form has seen him linked with a January switch.
Chelsea are thought to be interested, and with just Fernando Torres and Danny Sturridge available to Blues boss Rafa Benitez, the Stamford Bridge club could look to make a move when the transfer window reopens next month. But Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the frontman, which could complicate matters.
