Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has reportedly been trying to convince Spain teammate Fernando Llorente to secure a transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
Cazorla signed for Arsenal from Malaga in the summer transfer window and now, according to the Daily Express, wants his compatriot Llorente to make the move from La Liga to the Premier League.
Llorente has outlined his intention to leave Athletic Bilbao with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and Arsenal have been installed as one of the favourites to sign the 27-year-old striker.
Arsenal may now have their chances of winning the race for Llorente enhanced with Cazorla extolling the virtues of the Gunners, and Arsene Wenger could perhaps now be encouraged to make a move in the January transfer window.
The Gunners remain light of a proven goalscorer following the summer departure of captain Robin van Persie, with the acquisition of Olivier Giroud not having sufficiently compensated for the loss of the Dutchman.
Llorente would certainly provide Arsenal with another potentially potent option up front as the Gunners strive to finish the season among the Champions League places.
