Yeung is the club´s leading individual shareholder after buying an initial 29.9% stake in City last summer. But he never followed through his plan to completely buy out chairman David Gold and co-owner David Sullivan and came in for heavy criticism from the long-serving duo.
Yu said: "Hopefully one day we can take the club over. We thought that if we get involved in the club at least for some time, then we can take over and guarantee that nothing will go wrong.
