Harris backs Hiddink for Chelsea role

Chelsea legend Ron Harris believes Avram Grant´s departure from Stamford Bridge was inevitable and has tipped Guus Hiddink to be the favourite to take over.

Grant´s four-year contract was terminated after just eight months on Saturday following the club´s penalty shoot-out defeat to Manchester United in Moscow.

But Harris believes even victory could not have saved the Israeli and said: "Even if he had won the Champions League I am not convinced if he would have remained in charge but after they lost I think there was only ever going to be one outcome."
