Dickinson ready for dream final

Published Add your comment

Stockport´s talismanic striker Liam Dickinson admits the Coca-Cola League Two play-off final against Rochdale will be a "dream come true" in a two-and-a-half year journey that has taken him from non-league Woodley to the drama of Wembley.

The 22-year-old hitman arrived at Edgeley Park from local non-league side Woodley Sports in January 2006 with the Hatters five points adrift of League Two safety.

But, after hitting the winner in the 1-0 semi-final second-leg victory over Wycombe, Dickinson has helped guide them to the brink of promotion and said: "Obviously it´s got that added edge being at Wembley and it could be a once in a lifetime experience for many of us but no-one is nervous and there´s a really relaxed atmosphere amongst the lads."
